U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) participated in the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce’s 89th Annual Meeting and Business Summit this week in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. The event brought together business and community leaders from across the state.
Senator Capito attended a reception with Mountain Pure, where she announced the company’s rebranding to Valor Reserve. During this event, she received the first Valor Reserve Award in recognition of her support. She also delivered remarks at the 10th annual Friends of “Discover the Real West Virginia” (DRWV) reception, an organization that promotes West Virginia’s advantages to potential global investors.
On Thursday, Senator Capito addressed attendees at the business summit, offering updates on recent developments in the U.S. Senate. She later joined a discussion hosted by the American Clean Power Association alongside federal officials, state leaders, and industry executives about ways to boost energy development and job creation in West Virginia.
Additionally, Senator Capito hosted a roundtable focused on broadband access and deployment with Arielle Roth, Administrator of the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA). Roth also participated in these discussions as part of her visit to the summit.
“The West Virginia Chamber’s Annual Business Summit is always an energizing opportunity to hear directly from our state’s job creators, innovators, and community leaders. I’m proud of the work we’ve done together to expand opportunity, strengthen our infrastructure, and grow our economy, but I know there’s more to do. The future of West Virginia depends on our ability to foster a pro-business, pro-growth environment in our communities, and summit’s like this one play a big part in that,” Senator Capito said.
