U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito visited Huntington and Hurricane, West Virginia, participating in a site dedication and touring a local manufacturing business.
In Huntington, Senator Capito delivered remarks at the Westmoreland Fire Station Site Dedication. The fire station, originally built in 1926, received funding through a Congressionally Directed Spending request secured by Senator Capito. “This site dedication marks a major step forward for the Westmoreland neighborhood and the City of Huntington,” she stated. Huntington Mayor Patrick Farrell expressed gratitude for Senator Capito’s support, saying it ensures firefighters have necessary tools to protect neighborhoods effectively.
Senator Capito also toured Eagle Research in Hurricane. The female-owned company manufactures gas flow monitoring devices for the natural gas industry. She emphasized the importance of such businesses in driving growth and creating jobs in West Virginia. Frances Butch, President and CEO of Eagle Research, acknowledged Senator Capito’s support as crucial to the energy industry’s strength in the state.
