Carol Miller addresses child care shortages and energy exports for West Virginia

U.S. Representative Carol Miller, who serves West Virginia’s 1st district, recently addressed a range of issues affecting her state through a series of posts on her official Twitter account.

On March 20, 2026, Miller highlighted the ongoing shortage in the child care workforce and its impact on families in West Virginia. She stated, “Child care workforce shortages have led to widespread program closures and fewer safe, reliable options for working families. Reports are showing that 20,000 spots are needed to meet the demand of parents seeking child care here in West Virginia.”

Later that day, Miller commented on an economic development involving local manufacturing and international business partnerships. She wrote on March 20, 2026: “I am thrilled to hear that @FormEnergyInc has partnered with FuturEnergy to deploy batteries made in West Virginia overseas to Ireland. This is an incredible win for West Virginia’s energy industry and a powerful example of the Mountain State helping power countries around the”

On March 23, 2026, Miller responded to news about a plane crash in New York by expressing condolences and emphasizing support for transportation safety personnel. She posted: “Please join me in praying for those affected by this morning’s plane crash in New York, and for the families of the two pilots who lost their lives. This tragic loss is heartbreaking. We must make sure that we are fully supporting our TSA and airport safety professionals so we”

Miller has represented West Virginia’s 1st district since replacing Evan Jenkins in Congress in 2019. Before her tenure at the federal level, she served from 2006 to 2018 as a member of the West Virginia House of Delegates. Born in Columbus, Ohio in 1950 and currently residing in Huntington at age 72, Miller graduated from Columbia College in South Carolina with a BA degree.
