U.S. Representative Carol Miller, who serves West Virginia’s 1st district in Congress, has recently used her social media platform to address ongoing political issues, local industry efforts, and public safety concerns.
On March 10, 2026, Miller commented on the federal government shutdown affecting the Department of Homeland Security: “Twenty-four days into the @DHSgov shutdown, Democrats continue to prioritize their political games over the safety and security of Americans. Lack of crucial funding for FEMA, the U.S. Coast Guard, and our federal law enforcement officers has jeopardized our border security,” she wrote.
Later that same day, Miller highlighted developments in local industry with a visit to Constellium in Ravenswood, West Virginia: “Incredible work is being done at @Constellium in Ravenswood, WV. It was great to sit down with them recently to discuss the crucial work they do to support Blue Origin in their mission to increase access to outer space and export West Virginia products to the final frontier!”
On March 11, 2026, Miller issued a weather advisory for her constituents: “Large storms will be moving through the area this afternoon with the potential to cause strong wind gusts and damaging hail. Monitor local weather conditions and stay safe, West Virginia!”
Carol Miller has represented West Virginia’s 1st district since replacing Evan Jenkins in Congress in 2019. Prior to her congressional service, she was a member of the West Virginia House of Delegates from 2006 through 2018. Born in Columbus, Ohio in 1950 and currently residing in Huntington, Miller holds a bachelor’s degree from Columbia College in South Carolina.
