Rep. Carol Miller, who represents West Virginia’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared updates on her activities and views through a series of posts on social media.
On September 4, 2025, Miller announced her recognition by a national health organization: “This afternoon I was honored to be given the Congressional Champion of the Year award by members of the Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation. This foundation does incredible work funding and advocating for research and treatment for individuals suffering from polycystic kidney https://t.co/9a14cQjBy6”.
The following day, September 5, 2025, Miller commented on a recent decision regarding military education in her state: “Anyone hoping to serve the United States of America should have easy access to do so. I am grateful the U.S. Army Cadet Command has reversed their decision to end the ROTC program at WVSU, allowing our young mountaineers to pursue higher education and prepare for careers in the”.
Later that same day, she addressed international relations involving Uzbekistan and former President Trump: “I’m happy to see President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan and President Trump engage in a conversation. This marks an important step in strengthening our partnership and provides Congress with the opportunity to lift Jackson-Vanik and advance our trade relationship.”
Miller has served as West Virginia’s representative since 2019 after succeeding Evan Jenkins. Before joining Congress, she was a member of the West Virginia House of Delegates from 2006 to 2018. Born in Columbus, Ohio in 1950, Miller is currently based in Huntington and holds a BA from Columbia College in South Carolina.
