Governor Patrick Morrisey joined local officials and residents in Keyser on April 10 for a town hall event where he discussed the achievements of the 2026 legislative session and their effects on West Virginia families and communities.

The Governor said the focus was on delivering tangible results. “We have to keep delivering real results for the people of West Virginia,” Morrisey said. “From tax relief to road investments to strengthening our health care system, this session was about making a difference people can actually see in their daily lives.”

During his remarks, Morrisey outlined several major outcomes from the session. These included a five percent income tax cut across all brackets, new investments in infrastructure projects, and increased funding for education and workforce development programs. He also noted more than $2 billion allocated for roads and bridges, continued support for the HOPE Scholarship program, as well as a three percent pay raise for state employees, teachers, and school personnel. A key initiative highlighted was $199 million secured in funding under the Rural Health Transformation effort aimed at improving health care access.

“This session was about laying a foundation for the future,” Morrisey said. “We made responsible decisions, invested in priorities that matter, and put West Virginia in a position to grow and compete for years to come.”
