Governor Patrick Morrisey has directed that flags be flown at half-staff in West Virginia to honor Dick Cheney, the 46th Vice President of the United States. The order is effective from noon on Thursday, November 6, 2025, and will continue until sunset on the day of interment.

“Dick Cheney committed decades of his life to the service of our nation,” said Governor Morrisey. “From the Department of Defense to the Vice Presidency, he was a formidable leader with a deep sense of duty and conviction. I extend my heartfelt condolences to the Cheney family during this time of loss.”
