Governor Patrick Morrisey has directed that flags be flown at half staff at the Capitol Complex in Charleston and all state buildings in Wayne County to honor the memory of Don Perdue. The order is effective starting at noon on October 20, 2025, and will continue until sunset on the day of Perdue’s interment.

Governor Morrisey issued a statement following the passing of Don Perdue, a former member of the West Virginia House of Delegates. “It is with sadness that I learned of the passing of former Delegate Don Perdue,” said Governor Morrisey. “For nearly two decades, he served the people of Wayne County and all of West Virginia in the House of Delegates. His leadership as chairman of the House Health Committee left a lasting impact on our state. Denise and my prayers go out to his friends and family.”

Perdue was recognized for his long tenure representing Wayne County and his role as chairman of the House Health Committee.
