Governor Patrick Morrisey announced on Apr. 15 the re-appointment of Jason Henderson and the appointments of Timothy Craig Jennings and Jonathan Board to the Fairmont State University Board of Governors. All three appointees are alumni of Fairmont State, bringing experience in finance, infrastructure, public policy, and law.
The announcement is significant for Fairmont State University as it continues its role in education and economic development in North Central West Virginia. The new board members are expected to help guide the university’s future growth and maintain its standards.
“Fairmont State University is a cornerstone of education and economic growth in North Central West Virginia, and these three individuals represent the very best of what this institution produces,” said Governor Patrick Morrisey. “Jason, Craig, and Jonathan are accomplished professionals in their respective fields. I am confident their leadership will ensure that Fairmont State continues to provide world-class opportunities for its students and the community.”
Henderson has been re-appointed after previously serving on the board. He is from Bridgeport and serves as Chief Financial Officer at Energy Transportation. Following an accident in 2007, Henderson received academic support from Fairmont State before earning his degree there and later completing an MBA at West Virginia University. He also owns Energy Resource Group, LLC.
Jennings joins as a new appointee with a background in civil engineering technology from his time at Fairmont State where he was captain of the football team and president of the American Society of Civil Engineers. He has served as Preston County Commissioner for twelve years, co-founded GET Concrete and Olympic Village, worked as a producer at Bond Insurance Agency, and was recognized with FSU’s Outstanding Young Alumni Award in 2015.
