Kanawha County Schools (KCS), in collaboration with the West Virginia Department of Education (WVDE) and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), is providing a summer food program at 11 sites this season. The program aims to offer meals to students during the summer break.

The program’s schedule varies by location, with breakfast and lunch provided at different times. For instance, Central Elementary will serve breakfast from 8:30 to 9:00 and lunch from 11:30 to 12:00, running from June 9th through August 1st. Elk Elementary will have similar dates but starts breakfast earlier at 8:00.

Some locations have shorter operational periods, such as Grandview Elementary, which offers meals from June 10th until June 30th. Other schools like Capital High School will provide services from July 7th to July 18th.

All sites will observe a holiday closure on Friday, July 4th. Individuals with specific inquiries are encouraged to contact the respective location directly for more details.
