Rep. Carol Miller, who represents West Virginia’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared updates on her work for veterans, community funding, and law enforcement through a series of posts on her social media account.
On January 8, 2026, Miller posted about meeting with Veterans Affairs Secretary Doug Collins to discuss support for veterans in West Virginia. She wrote: “This week, I had the chance to meet with an old friend of mine, Veterans Affairs Secretary Doug Collins, to talk about how we can best serve our veterans and their families.

The following day, January 9, 2026, Miller announced the passage of a bipartisan minibus spending bill that she said would benefit southern West Virginia counties. In her post she stated: “Yesterday’s minibus passed with overwhelming bipartisan support and was a major win for West Virginia, securing $11.8 million that I had requested for projects throughout our southern counties.

Later on January 9th, Miller marked Law Enforcement Appreciation Day by acknowledging local officers’ efforts: “Happy Law Enforcement Appreciation Day to all of the men and women who work tirelessly to keep our communities safe. Miller has represented West Virginia’s 1st District since 2019 after serving in the state House of Delegates from 2006 to 2018. She was born in Columbus, Ohio in 1950 and currently resides in Huntington. Miller earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia College in South Carolina in 1972.
