Rep. Carol Miller, U.S. Congresswoman representing West Virginia’s 1st district, posted a series of messages on her social media accounts honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and highlighting her legislative record on abortion issues.

On January 19, 2026, Miller wrote, “Today, we celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., who embodied gentleness without weakness and paired compassion with the resolve needed to push a nation forward. Dr. King’s teachings were a driving force of the American Civil Rights Movement and remain a”.

Later that day, she shared her participation in a local event: “It was an honor to be at Charleston’s First Baptist Church this morning where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. spoke on his trip to West Virginia in 1960. Thank you to the West Virginia Herbert Henderson Office of Minority Affairs for hosting this wonderful event.”

On January 20, 2026, Miller turned to another topic, posting about her stance on abortion legislation: “I am proud to have earned an A+ on @sbaprolife’s scorecard for consistently voting to protect the lives of the unborn and to stop forced taxpayer funding of abortion, including standing up to Big Abortion providers, like Planned Parenthood. #WhyWeMarch”.

Miller has served as a member of Congress since 2019 after replacing Evan Jenkins and previously held office in the West Virginia House of Delegates from 2006 to 2018. She was born in Columbus, Ohio in 1950 and currently resides in Huntington. Miller is also a graduate of Columbia College in South Carolina.
