Rep. Carol Miller, who represents West Virginia’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of messages on September 11, 2025, reflecting on the anniversary of the September 11 attacks and honoring a late colleague.
In her first post at 14:04 UTC, Miller wrote: “Twenty-four years ago, our nation was forever changed when terrorists carried out devastating attacks on America. On this day, we honor the 2,977 innocent lives lost and pay tribute to the brave first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice. We will never forget.”

At 17:16 UTC on the same day, Miller paid tribute to West Virginia Supreme Court Justice Tim Armstead with the following message: “Today, I had the privilege of honoring my late friend and colleague, West Virginia Supreme Court Justice Tim Armstead, on the House Floor. Tim had a true passion for public service and dedicated his life to the people of West Virginia. I am grateful for the opportunity to”.
Miller has represented West Virginia’s 1st District in Congress since replacing Evan Jenkins in 2019 and previously served in the state’s House of Delegates from 2006 to 2018. She was born in Columbus, Ohio in 1950 and currently resides in Huntington. Miller graduated from Columbia College in South Carolina with a BA degree in 1972.
