U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito, representing West Virginia and serving as the Chairman of the Senate Environment and Public Works (EPW) Committee, has released updated legislative text. This update falls under the jurisdiction of the EPW Committee and is part of the Senate Republicans’ budget reconciliation bill.
Chairman Capito stated, “Our budget reconciliation title through the EPW Committee accomplishes what we pledged to do – stop Democrats’ natural gas tax and rescind unobligated dollars from the so-called Inflation Reduction Act, as well as a full repeal of the wasteful Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund. Senate Republicans continue to move towards passage of this package that will help enact President Trump’s agenda.”
The updated text aims to address specific fiscal policies related to energy and environmental regulations. It includes efforts to counteract measures previously introduced by Democrats, specifically targeting taxes on natural gas and funding allocations from past legislation.
