U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito, a member of the Senate Republican Leadership, issued a statement following President Donald J. Trump’s address to Congress. The senator expressed approval of the president’s speech, highlighting its focus on several key issues.
“President Trump’s address was a refreshing change from the previous four years,” Capito stated. She praised the president for delivering “a strong and optimistic vision for our country—one that prioritizes securing our border, unleashing American energy, strengthening our military, and providing much needed tax relief for hardworking families.”
