Senator Chris Rose posted a series of messages on his social media account in early April 2026, sharing Bible verses and expressing support for recent legislative action in West Virginia. The posts included religious references as well as commentary on state gun laws.

On April 5, 2026, Senator Rose shared two passages from the King James Version of the Bible. In one post, he quoted John 11:25: “Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:”. In another post made shortly after, he cited Matthew 28:6: “He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.”.

Two days later on April 7, Senator Rose commented on new state legislation related to constitutional carry rights. He wrote: “Proud to see Governor Morrisey sign HB 4106 into law! As lead Senate sponsor, I’m honored we expanded constitutional carry to every law-abiding 18-20 year old in WV. If you’re old enough to fight for America, you’re old enough to defend your family without a permission slip. 2A”.

HB 4106 is part of ongoing efforts in West Virginia to expand gun rights within the state. The new law allows individuals aged 18-20 who meet legal requirements to carry firearms without needing additional permits. This move aligns with similar legislation passed in other states that have broadened so-called “constitutional carry” provisions for younger adults.

Governor Patrick Morrisey signed HB 4106 into law following its passage through both chambers of the West Virginia Legislature. The measure has been supported by proponents who argue it affirms Second Amendment rights for young adults and ensures those eligible can legally defend themselves and their families.
