Senator Jim Justice, who serves as the Governor of West Virginia, posted a series of statements on his social media account addressing Holocaust Remembrance Day, the passing of a prominent state delegate, and recent economic developments in West Virginia.
On January 27, 2026, Justice marked Holocaust Remembrance Day with a message commemorating victims and survivors. He wrote: “On this Holocaust Remembrance Day, we honor the 6 million lives lost and the countless victims and survivors of these horrors.
We remember, we mourn, and we recommit ourselves to making sure this kind of evil never takes root again.”
The following day, January 28, 2026, Justice addressed the death of John Overington. In his post he stated: “Terrible to hear of the passing of John Overington. As the longest-serving delegate in West Virginia history, his legacy of service is unmatched.
We all owe John a tremendous thanks for the decades he spent proudly serving this great state.
Cathy and I are praying for his”
Later that same day, Justice commented on an announcement from American Power and Intelligence Corporation regarding investments in West Virginia. He wrote: “I truly could not be prouder to see the seeds of our work from years ago begin to bloom in the state with this announcement from the American Power and Intelligence Corporation.
These investments are a huge deal and push West Virginia to the forefront of a new age. West”
John Overington served as a member of the West Virginia House of Delegates for more than four decades before retiring in 2018.
Governor Jim Justice has been involved in efforts to attract investment into West Virginia’s economy during his tenure.
