Senator Jim Justice highlighted a series of meetings and recognitions through posts on his social media accounts between February 4 and February 6, 2026. Justice, the Governor of West Virginia who has been serving since 2017 and was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2024, used his platform to underscore West Virginia’s openness to international business, youth advocacy efforts, and military service recognition.
On February 4, 2026, Justice reported on a diplomatic meeting: “Great meeting with Danish Ambassador Jesper Møller Sørensen. I let him know West Virginia is absolutely open for more business!”
The following day, he acknowledged the efforts of young West Virginians attending a national event: “An absolute pleasure meeting these bright West Virginians while they are in DC for the @CADCA forum. This organization is helping lead the way for the prevention of youth substance abuse in our communities. Their stories were moving, and I’m so proud of them for their strength.” The Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA) hosts an annual forum that brings together community leaders to address youth substance abuse prevention strategies.
On February 6, Justice recognized two members of the military: “Specialist Sarah Beckstrom & Staff Sergeant Andrew Wolfe are true heroes of our state and nation. Grateful to @SECWAR & @POTUS for awarding these two heroes the Purple Heart. It’s well-deserved recognition of their dedication, courage, and unwavering protection of our country.” The Purple Heart is awarded by the U.S. government to service members wounded or killed as a result of enemy action.
Justice’s recent activities reflect his ongoing engagement with both local constituents and international partners as part of his Senate role. He continues a record begun during his gubernatorial tenure focused on economic development and public health initiatives.
