U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito posted a series of statements on March 19, 2026, addressing border security, healthcare access in West Virginia, and election integrity.
In her first post of the day, Capito wrote, “Democrats have cut off resources to @DHSgov, jeopardizing America’s border security, maritime security, and ability to respond to emergencies. Democrats need to come to the table now so we can continue to equip these hardworking men and women with the resources they need to” (March 19, 2026).
Later that afternoon, Capito shared details about a meeting with members of the West Virginia Association of Optometric Physicians. She stated, “Great to meet with members of @wvaop to discuss policies important to ensuring continued access to quality eye care in West Virginia.” (March 19, 2026).
In an evening post on election policy, Capito said: “Every single American citizen should have confidence in their voting system. The SAVE America Act allows for fair and just elections—the way they should always be.” (March 19, 2026).
