In her first post, Capito highlighted a recent meeting with Rear Admiral Rich Lofgren, Acting Chief of the Navy Reserve. Later that day, Capito addressed the ongoing DHS shutdown. On March 24, 2026, she stated: “We are now on day 39 of the @DHSgov Democrat Shutdown. Lines are getting longer and hardworking Americans are suffering at the hands of Democrats. This @DHSgov shutdown needs to end NOW.” In a subsequent post on March 24, 2026, she reiterated her stance: “It’s time for this @DHSgov Democrat shutdown to end.”
