On August 25, 2025, Capito posted about her visit to Wheeling: “Wrapped up a productive visit in Wheeling today where I received updates on recovery efforts. I worked closely with the administration and @POTUS to ensure our communities received the critical disaster relief resources needed to rebuild and recover from the June flooding.”
Later that day, she visited Parkersburg and discussed community benefits at a local resiliency center. In her post dated August 25, 2025, Capito wrote: “Wonderful being in Parkersburg today to visit the Wood County Resiliency Center and meet with local leaders. During the visit, we had a great discussion on the potential economic and safety benefits for the Parkersburg and Wood County communities that this center will bring.”
