U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito shared updates on recent meetings and personal reflections in a series of posts on her social media account.
On April 15, 2026, Capito wrote, “Great to meet with members of @NSSF to discuss my longtime commitment to their legislative priorities important to gun rights and safety. Grateful for their advocacy and commitment to protecting our constitutional rights that I share.”
The following day, she posted about an encounter with young constituents: “Great to meet with West Virginia 4-H students! Loved getting to hear about their achievements and excited to see where the future will take them.” Later that same day, Capito marked a personal milestone by honoring her late father: “Today would have been Dad’s 103rd birthday— miss him today and every day. Happy birthday, Dad!”
Capito has dedicated her career to public service for West Virginia and is recognized as the first woman elected to the U.S. Senate from the state (official website).
