Senator Shelley Moore Capito, who represents West Virginia in the U.S. Senate, shared updates on her recent engagements across the state through a series of posts on January 21, 2026.
In her first post that evening, Capito described meeting with constituents at several Charleston events. She wrote, “Appreciated the chance to connect with so many West Virginians this evening at three important gatherings in Charleston — the @WVaChamber Legislative Reception, the WV Economic Development Council Legislative Reception, and the Regional Economic Development Partners Dinner.” (January 21, 2026)
Earlier that day, Capito visited a major defense contractor’s facility in Clarksburg. In her words: “Kicked off the day with a visit to @LockheedMartin’s Clarksburg facility where I saw how West Virginia workers support for the @USNavy and the C-130J program underscores the strength and talent we have right here at home. West Virginia is proud to play a key role in” (January 21, 2026).
Later in Fairmont, Capito met with local restaurant owners to discuss economic policy impacts. She posted: “Next stop— Fairmont! Great to hear from restaurants about how the Working Families Tax Cuts legislation is giving them the certainty to invest, hire, and grow. Our conversation reaffirmed why these pro-business and worker-focused tax policies matter. I’m grateful to the” (January 21, 2026).
Senator Capito has served as one of West Virginia’s U.S. Senators since 2015 and frequently highlights workforce development initiatives and economic policy discussions within her state.
