In her first post, Capito highlighted her participation in a local event, stating on September 2, 2025: “ICYMI: Had a great time participating in the ribbon cutting ceremony for the Batteau Beach at Hinton Landing last week. This new attraction is a critical aspect in making Hinton a true destination that appeals to more tourists and visitors alike.”

Later that day, she addressed business leaders at an event. On September 2, 2025, Capito posted: “Great to speak at the #WVBusinessSummit about the latest from the U.S. Senate and how the policies we are pushing are helping the business community here in WV.”

In her final post of the day, Capito reflected on her tenure with fellow Senator Joni Ernst. She wrote on September 2, 2025: “It’s been a privilege to serve in the Senate alongside my friend @SenJoniErnst. Her leadership, love of country, and commitment to serving her beloved Iowa should be an inspiration to the next generation of female leaders! We’ve come a long way from being the only two women in”

Shelley Moore Capito has served as U.S. Senator for West Virginia since 2015 and is known for her involvement in economic development initiatives within her state. The Batteau Beach project mentioned by Capito is part of ongoing efforts to boost tourism and revitalize communities along West Virginia’s rivers.
