Senator Shelley Moore Capito posted a series of updates on February 17, 2026, detailing her visits to several organizations in West Virginia and highlighting the impact of Congressionally Directed Spending (CDS) allocations she helped secure.

In her first post at 21:39 UTC, Capito wrote, “Stopped by @CrittentonWV, a top behavioral health provider for WV children and families. Enjoyed the opportunity to tour the facility and see how CDS funding I secured will help expand their center for young women and children.”

Later that evening at 22:16 UTC, she shared another update: “Next stop, @WheelingFD! Great meeting with city officials and first responders about projects funded through CDS allocations. From building the Wheeling Gateway Center and upgrading Northern Parkway to strengthening our police and fire departments, we’re investing in”

Her final post of the day at 23:06 UTC stated, “Wrapped up the day at @OglebayResort where I had the chance to speak with the Wheeling Park Commission and others about plans to renovate facilities and how a recent CDS allocation I helped secure for them will assist in these efforts. Preserving Oglebay’s historic charm while”

Senator Capito has represented West Virginia in the U.S. Senate since 2015. Congressionally Directed Spending refers to federal funds allocated by members of Congress for specific local projects or organizations within their states or districts.
