The following morning, May 5, Capito posted about spending time with her family at a local school. She stated, “So fun to spend the morning reading to my grandson’s class. It’s important to take time to sit with our young ones and read with them regularly.”
Later that day, she highlighted an academic celebration at Shepherd University. In her words: “What an amazing celebration of @ShepherdU’s President Dr. Mary Hendrix today. A proud daughter of Shepherdstown as well as an alumna and former student athlete—Mary is a true homegrown president. She is leaving an extraordinary legacy behind—fostering community engagement,”
