She stated: “Great to meet with @RealArmyCID West Virginia Native Director Scott Moreland today. I’m proud that Clarksburg, West Virginia is home to the Biometric Operations Department and look forward to working with him in support of that facility, which is working every day to keep West” (May 11, 2026).
Later that day, Capito commented on the signing of new broadband legislation by President Biden: “NEWS: Thrilled @POTUS signed the Rural Broadband Protection Act into law today! I have long supported efforts to expand broadband access to those who need it most, and this bill ensures that federal dollars are spent responsibly and directed toward connecting rural communities” (May 11, 2026).
On May 12, Capito recognized healthcare workers during Hospital Week: “This Hospital Week, I’d like to give a huge thanks to our West Virginia providers for their hard work and dedication to the health and well-being of our state. Proud to have recently secured funds through the Congressionally Directed Spending process to deliver critical” (May 12, 2026).
Capito’s focus on public service for West Virginia has been consistent throughout her career as documented by her official website. A seventh-generation West Virginian who grew up in Glen Dale, she holds degrees from Duke University and the University of Virginia. Alongside her husband Charles, she has three children and multiple grandchildren. Her ongoing advocacy includes supporting infrastructure projects such as rural broadband expansion and securing funding for healthcare providers in her state.
