Senator Shelley Moore Capito, representing West Virginia, shared several reflections and community updates on her social media account between December 6 and December 7, 2025.
On December 6, Capito commented on a recent gathering in the state: “It was inspiring to see the community come together last night for a vigil at Musselman High School for Andrew Wolfe and Sarah Beckstrom. In times like these, I’m always heartened by West Virginians’ strength and resolve to be there for their neighbors.”
Later that evening, she expressed support for a local sports team: “Win or lose, always proud to cheer on the Mountaineers. Fun night watching @WVUhoops play at the @chaswvccc “ This message referenced her attendance at a basketball game involving the West Virginia University Mountaineers at the Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center.
On December 7, Senator Capito recognized a significant date in American history: “On Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, join me in honoring and remembering those who sacrificed so much on that day and in the days since to defend the freedoms we hold dear.” Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day is observed annually on December 7 to honor those killed or wounded during the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941. The day is marked nationwide with ceremonies and moments of silence commemorating both military personnel and civilians affected by the event.
Shelley Moore Capito has served as U.S. Senator from West Virginia since 2015.
