Senator Shelley Moore Capito, who represents West Virginia in the U.S. Senate, recently posted a series of messages on her official Twitter account addressing law enforcement, international affairs, and civil rights.

On January 18, 2026, Capito expressed gratitude to local and federal officers for their work in community safety. She stated: “Grateful to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s office and @ICEgov officers who keep West Virginia’s communities safe!”

Later that day, she addressed foreign policy concerns related to Iran. In a post from January 18, 2026, Capito wrote: “WATCH: Scott Jennings and I discuss the brutality of the Iranian regime and my continued support of @POTUS standing with the people of Iran in their fight for freedom.”

On January 19, 2026, Capito commemorated Martin Luther King Jr. Day by reflecting on his influence.
