Democratic incumbent Glenn Jeffries has won his re-election bid for Senate District 8, defeating Republican opponent Kathie Hess Crouse.

Jeffries expressed gratitude on his Facebook page on Nov. 4.

“Thanks to everyone who cast a ballot. I will never take for granted the trust you have placed in me to be your State Senator. Thanks to family and friends who helped so much with our campaign. We are going to get a little rest, then back to work!”

Similarly, Crouse also used her Facebook page to concede.

“Well, last night did not go as planned or hoped. Although we had almost 18,500 votes, It was not enough to pull us over. Thank you all for your support and help. I appreciate you all more than you know. Time to get dusted off and figure out the next move.”
