Of the 6,498 people living in Nitro in 2020, 54.6 percent (3,546) were women and 45.4 percent (2,952) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the Charleston Leader.

Females 18 and over outnumbered males in the same age group by 63. In the 65 and over age range, there were 840 females and 403 males.
