Bull Finished Third, Women’s Golf Finished Fifth at Jennifer Duke Invitational

Freshman Abbey Bull closed out her collegiate debut with a third place finish as the Marshall University women's golf team finished fifth at the Jennifer Duke Invitational on Tuesday.

"I saw many good things during our first tournament of the year," Herd women's golf head coach Brooke Burkhammer said at the conclusion of the tournament. "I was really impressed with Abbey's performance this week. She posted three solid rounds and I'm proud of her. Olivia (Kochan) and Emily (McLatchey) played well for us this week too. I'm proud of them. The future is bright for Marshall women's golf. I'm looking forward to our next event in Greensboro."

Bull finished the tournament with an even-par 71 in the third round, her best round of the tournament. The freshman from Sydney, Australia, finished the tournament with seven birdies, tied for fifth most in the event.

Like Bull, Olivia Kochan had her best round during the final 18 holes with a two-over par 73. On the back nine, the freshman from Dallas, Texas, shot a two-under 34 with three of her eight birdies of the 54-hole tournament, fourth most of those student-athletes at the event.
