With heavy snow and potential blizzard conditions in the forecast, Madison Fire reminds you to take care of yourself and others in the coming days. Please be sure to:

Clear a 3-foot path around your fire hydrants.

Make sure snow doesn't build up around the furnace and water heater vents outside of your home. Clear snow away from any air intakes, too.

Keep up with shoveling and snow blowing, and do a little bit at a time. Don't wait until the snow has stopped to shovel or blow snow. Your back and heart will appreciate the breaks!

 Hydrate between rounds of shoveling.

Dress properly for the weather to prevent frostbite and hypothermia, and don't stay outside too long.

Look out for and check on your neighbors.
