U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito recently attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the expansion of Aurora Flight Sciences at the Mid-Atlantic Aerospace Complex near the North Central West Virginia Airport in Bridgeport. The expansion will see the addition of nearly 50,000 square feet of space and over 100 new personnel in the next five years.

In her remarks, Senator Capito expressed her confidence in the West Virginia workforce and the state's proud history in the aerospace industry. She emphasized the importance of the aerospace sector in maintaining America's position as a global leader in economic and military power. Senator Capito stated, "Our state has such a proud history of involvement in the aerospace industry, and today’s announcement will help continue that tradition."

Mike Caimona, President and CEO of Aurora Flight Sciences, highlighted the significance of the community in their business growth. He mentioned, "The people here are key to our businesses. The hard work of Aurora team members and the support from local partners made this expansion possible."

Aurora Flight Sciences, a Boeing Company, initially established its presence in Bridgeport in 1999.
