Two robotics teams from Kanawha County Schools have qualified for the 2025 World Championship. The teams, The Coding Corgis from Chamberlin Elementary School and The Bot Squad from Cedar Grove Elementary School, will compete on the world stage in Dallas, Texas, from May 12th to May 14th.

The Coding Corgis secured their place by winning the Design Award at this year’s state competition. This award is given to a team that shows a professional approach to the engineering design process. The criteria for this category include project management, time management, and team organization. According to the judges, “the Coding Corgi’s demonstrated their ability to work together as a team using strong communication skills,” showed an understanding of their robot’s operation, and had an effective game strategy.

Kanawha County Schools expressed pride in all teams that competed in the state championship. “We are so proud of every single KCS team who competed in this year’s state championship,” they stated. They noted that the level of competition continues to rise each year and acknowledged the hard work required just to reach the state championship level.
