Census Bureau: More women than men in Charleston in 2020

Of the 47,273 people living in Charleston in 2020, 52.5 percent (24,819) were women and 47.5 percent (22,454) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the Charleston Leader.

Females 18 and over outnumbered males in the same age group by 901. In the 65 and over age range, there were 5,309 females and 3,868 males.
