Celebration Station, a playground situated on Charleston's East End, has temporarily closed for essential repairs. The closure is scheduled from Monday, March 17th to Friday, March 28th. The playground is set to reopen on Saturday, March 29th.

The planned updates include enhancing handicap accessibility, leveling the basketball court to prevent water accumulation, planting grass, and pouring additional concrete.

Celebration Station was established through a collaboration between the City of Charleston, Kanawha County Schools, the Charleston Rotary Club, and Piedmont Elementary School. The playground features two distinct areas: one accessible to the public and another designated for students of Piedmont Elementary School.

For more information about Celebration Station, highlights from its ribbon-cutting event in May 2023 are available.

"We’re excited about the upgrades being made and can’t wait to welcome you back for an even better experience once the work is complete. Thank you for your patience and understanding!"
