For the fourth consecutive year, the University of Charleston will go head-to-head (or arm to arm) with West Virginia State University as they participate in a “Blood Drive Battle” to help the American Red Cross.
The University of Charleston will hold its drive October 31 and November 1 in the UC Geary Student Union, and West Virginia State will hold its drive November 7 and 8 in their student union.
The winner of the battle (based on the number of donors) will be announced at halftime of the UC-State football game that will be played Saturday, November 12 at UC Stadium. Game time is noon.
Donors are asked to schedule an appointment to give blood. You can schedule yours at https://www.redcrossblood.org/. Keyword is uoc.
Every two seconds, someone in the US needs blood: accident and burn victims, those undergoing surgery, those battling cancer, and more. Because there is such an ongoing need, blood drives are critical to having adequate supplies on hand.
