SOLD OUT

!Singer-Songwriter Morgan Wade will be performing in the Maier Foundation Performance Hall at the Clay Center for the Arts & Sciences on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at 7:30pm.Breakout artist Morgan Wade is described as bold and startling with a voice that is equal parts husky knowing, brassy want, and innocence. Her first full length album, Reckless, is an unfaltering merge of rock, classic country acoustic guitars, a beat that means business, and sweeping melodies that will pull listeners into her songs. With insider trade HITS proclaiming, “Imagine Kris Kristofferson as a Gen Z woman,” The New York Times raving, “she sounds like she’s singing from the depths of history” and FADER offering, “Wade has a voice like a jagged blade, sharp enough to draw blood but lustrous under the light,” Reckless landed hard and true. A product of her collaboration with Sadler Vaden (guitarist in Jason Isbell + the 400 Unit) and engineer Paul Ebersold, the trio worked to keep the guitars forward, the edges rough and her voice the star in the loose tumble of players meshing on the edge of Tom Petty/Lucinda Williams’ rock & roll.Morgan Wade is presented with support from WesBanco. The Clay Center’s performing arts and visual arts offerings are presented with financial assistance from the West Virginia Department of Arts, Culture, and History, and the National Endowment for the Arts, with approval from the West Virginia Commission on the Arts. Please call the Clay Center box office at 304-561-3570 or email boxoffice@theclaycenter.org if you have any questions.
