The West Virginia Department of Education (WVDE) is set to audit the Special Education Department of Kanawha County Schools (KCS) this year. This audit is part of a routine process where each district in the state undergoes an evaluation every five years.

Parental and guardian feedback plays a crucial role in these audits. Those with children enrolled under an Individualized Education Program (IEP) at KCS are invited to participate by completing a survey. The survey can be accessed online or through paper copies available at the Kanawha County Schools Board of Education.

For those preferring a physical copy, requests can be made by contacting the KCS Office of Exceptional Students at 304-348-7770. All surveys must be submitted by February 10, 2025.
