CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Today, U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.), Ranking Member of the Senate Environment and Public Works (EPW) Committee and a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, announced funding from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to the Town of Davis, W.Va. for sewer upgrades, which will impact residents across Tucker County.
"This award, which was secured through a Congressionally Directed Spending (CDS) request made by Senator Capito, will provide funding for a new, centralized wastewater treatment plant to serve residents in Tucker County," said Ranking Member Capito.
Senator Capito expressed her dedication to addressing the challenges faced by local officials in serving the needs of the growing community around Corridor-H. She highlighted her commitment to utilizing her positions on the EPW and Appropriations Committees to secure resources for constructing new sewer and wastewater infrastructure in Tucker County. She eagerly anticipates the completion of the new facility.
The individual award details include a $5,000,000 EPA CDS awarded to the Town of Davis, W.Va. for engineering and constructing a new centralized wastewater treatment plant in Davis to meet the growing demand for services in Tucker County.
