U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.), a member of the Senate Defense Appropriations Subcommittee, has joined 47 Senate Republican colleagues in introducing a resolution condemning any action by the Biden administration to withhold or restrict ammunition or weapons for Israel. The resolution was spearheaded by U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.).

Senator Capito stated, “As Israel fights to rescue hostages, including American citizens, and dismantle the terror threat that Hamas poses, we should not waver in providing the security assistance Israel needs. Israel deserves America’s full support, not conditional aid based on the political preferences of the Biden administration.”

The resolution condemns any decision by the Biden administration to halt the shipment of United States-made ammunition and weapons to the State of Israel. It demands that the Biden administration continue to fulfill military aid requests from Israel in order to provide the weapons needed to defeat Hamas and defend against attacks from the Islamic Republic of Iran and its proxies.

Furthermore, it reaffirms the importance of the long history of United States military aid to Israel and expresses willingness to expedite delivery of such aid in times of crisis. The resolution also upholds the commitment of the United States to Israel’s security and long-term prosperity.
