Rep. Alex Mooney, representing West Virginia’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, has shared his views on government spending and efficiency through a series of tweets. Mooney, who has been serving since 2015 after replacing Shelley Moore Capito, highlighted key issues facing the current Congress.

On December 5, Rep. Mooney addressed the House floor concerning fiscal responsibilities. He stated: "Today, I spoke on the House floor about the failure to complete our most fundamental responsibility to fund the government in a responsible manner and on time through twelve single-subject spending bills." In this tweet, he emphasized that Republicans in the 119th Congress have been entrusted with significant responsibilities.

The following day, December 6, Mooney tweeted about his meeting with Elon Musk: "It was a pleasure to meet @elonmusk and hear his plans for @DOGE. We need to cut government bloat and stop the out of control spending." This interaction reflects Mooney's interest in addressing government expenditure and inefficiencies.

Later that day, he reiterated Republican enthusiasm for improving governmental operations via DOGE by stating: "Republicans are fired up to make government more efficient through @DOGE! Look who is in the background!"
